Strap yourself in because you’re for the ride of your life with this enemies-to-lovers romance. The smut scale is off the charts and when I say off the charts, I mean off the charts. Read Resurrection if you love dark reverse-harem bully romances where the heroine has no problem giving it right back. When they step through the doors of Low’s new school, that rumor quickly becomes a thing of the past as they lay “claim” on Low.įrom there, Low’s life takes a sharp u-turn into uncharted territories as she grapples with four complicated guys, buried secrets that were never supposed to be unearthed and a new “dad” who is the epitome of the devil.

Saint, Galen, Caz and Theo are rumored to never go back for seconds. Finding her boyfriend trading spit with another girl is the cherry on top of the worst day of her life and the reason behind Low’s involvement with the junior chapter of the Sainthood, a powerful gang. This is one of my favorite books of 2021.In the wake of Harlow Westbrook’s father’s death, Low is determined to drown out her feelings with alcohol and sex. I definitely plan on reading more books by Jennifer Hartmann.

I adored this story even though I balled my eyes out for most of it. It shows you how hurt Cora is and how much she needs professional help. It is incredibly frustrating for the reader, but also Dean. She constantly pushes him away and then pulls him back.

She reacts in potentially harsh, but in believable ways.Ĭora does kind of play with Dean. Some reviews say Hartmann tried to make the sister, Mandy, a villain to excuse Cora and Dean’s behavior. There was just some stuff around that that felt unrealistic. They were together for 15 years and only recently got engaged. The Dean dating Cora’s sister was probably the hardest thing to believe. That could’ve felt over-the-top, but it never did. Sometimes it felt like Dean and Cora couldn’t escape the drama. I liked how Hartmann explored trauma and what it does to people. Some of Cora’s behavior is frustrating to read, too.īut I don’t care. Then, there’s the fact that the hero, Dean, has been in a relationship for 15 years with the heroine, Cora’s, sister. Objectively, I can see why people wouldn’t like this. You have to be the right person for this to work, but if you’re that person it is a heart wrenching and beautiful read. There’s kidnapping, rape, suicide attempts, animal death, and more. There’s a lot of stuff here that can be hard to read. It ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and then did it over and over.
